Why Piracy And Many P2P Sites Pose Security Threats

Many PC users have heard of piracy, and more than a few have gone to certain P2P websites and downloaded a game, music, or application and not paid anything for the download.
Piracy is illegal, and if that is not enough to stop you from downloading th newest song or game than the security threats that piracy poses should. When you go to the pirate sites and download a file, there is no guarantee that the file is not infected with adware or even worse. Some of the files available through piracy have infections that can capture important financial passwords, crash your system, and much more.
Even running a virus or malware scan may not always guarantee protection, because hackers who invent these programs are always releasing new security threats that many anti-virus or anti-malware programs are not aware of yet. A large number of computers may be infected with the new bug before a fix is created or an update is released.

Piracy has become a big threat, and not just to artists and game creators worried about copyright infringement. Pirated files may contain anything, and once the file is downloaded and opened you may end up with a computer that will not even boot up and is ready for the scrap heap. There are even some spyware programs which have the ability to record every single keystroke that you make, and then transmit this information to a remote PC or receiver.
This allows the hacker to access almost anything on your system, and puts it at a high risk for infections and other security problems. The best way to avoid these security threats and issues is to avoid pirated files completely, and if necessary pay a small fee for the download instead.
This can prevent expensive repairs or replacement that may be necessary if a pirated file is infected.
